My Journey and How it all started
online success is more than transactions; it’s about trust and integrity
it’s about building relationships based on trust and integrity. When customers trust your brand, they are more likely to become loyal advocates, leading to sustainable growth and success.
Introduction:
Welcome to my coaching journey – resilience, transformation, and the unwavering belief in the power of the Rocket Accelerator System. In sharing my story, I hope to inspire you and demonstrate how, even in the face of adversity, you can achieve remarkable success with the right mindset and tools.
The Beginnings:
My name is David Walter, and as we will talk about later, my life's purpose was born from tragedy. As a teenager, I was the passenger in a devastating car accident. Thrown from the vehicle, both the car I was riding in and myself hit a building. In the emergency room, pronounced dead and lifeless by doctors. By some miracle, I was revived and given a second chance at life.
In an instant, my trajectory was changed forever. I had been saved by a stranger, someone who could have given up on me but didn't. That profound moment ignited my true calling - to pay forward this gift and devote myself to serving others.
Unlike many who venture into the coaching world seeking profit, my motivation stemmed from a solemn promise made in the wake of my resurrection. While my family had envisioned a different path for me, I committed myself wholeheartedly to making a positive impact on others’ lives.
Decades later, this pledge still drives my purpose. My near-death experience taught me that life is a series of pivotal moments, each with the power to completely transform our destinies. I founded my coaching business not to pursue wealth, but to create meaning.
In a space crowded with those chasing money, I set myself apart through genuine care for people. Although I make money by what I do, my greatest fulfillment comes from helping others to thrive. I pour my full spirit into this mission.
My hope is that my story sparks a moment of inspiration for you. I am living proof that even tragedy can unlock one’s true calling. If my journey resonates, let it be the spark that lights your own path to purpose. Our lives intertwine for a reason. Your transformation may just be beginning.
Navigating Challenges:
Don't get me wrong, life, threw its share of challenges my way. I had imposter syndrome early on and faced many moments of self-doubt, especially when my initial attempts at group coaching were met with skepticism and mockery. My journey was not easy; it was riddled with uncertainties and emotional upheaval. Yet, amidst the doubts and setbacks, I persevered.
Starting As A One-to-One Coach
My passion for electronics started early as did my coaching journey. I was managing an electronics repair shop while informally coaching others on repair skills. This led to an engineering role at GE Aerospace where I was recruited to work on highly confidential government projects.
Even though I had these so-called regular jobs, my love for electronics and teaching never faded.
Though I enjoyed the technical work, my true calling was training and coaching others. I began informally coaching people for free, building skills and reputation. This evolved into my launching TAG (The Amatech Group) Online from my kitchen table, coaching electronics job seekers on resumes, interview prep and confidence building. I really enjoyed coaching applicants on how to do what they needed to do to get over their interview jitters and land the job.
Over the next few years, TAG expanded rapidly to multiple offices across five states. I successfully sold the company for $1.2 million in the early 1980s, an enormous sum in those days. Unfortunately, I was never taught how to handle this kind of money. And without that financial education, to use my fathers words, that money burned holes in my pockets. I didn’t handle the money well. I spent lavishly on houses, cars, and planes for myself, family and friends. In less than a year, I was broke, a harsh lesson in wealth management. It was a 1.2 million dollar education that I would never forget but now what was I going to do?
This is when I returned to what I knew. I returned to my niche - coaching businesses in setting up online systems. Drawing on my TAG Online experience, I founded Global Associates teaching Bulletin Board System creation. At first I was doing this for free and as things grew that became my niche. As the internet evolved, I pivoted to website development and specialized software coaching.
I returned to my niche, using my TAG Online experience to launch Global Associates, teaching businesses to create Bulletin Board Systems. As the internet evolved, I pivoted to website development and specialized software coaching.
In the early days, the internet was very different. It was excruciatingly slow on dial-up modems. There were no graphical interfaces or websites, only text-based browsers like Lynx. Back then even sending an email was complicated as email addresses were convoluted strings of characters.
Bulletin Board Systems allowed users to exchange messages, share files and play games - precursors to today's forums and social networks.
Unlike today's internet, there were no online advertisements, e-commerce platforms, or Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok or other social media networks. The internet was focused on knowledge, not commerce. It was a time of discovery, laying the foundation for the digital world we know today.
My skills grew as I helped more clients. I developed a reputation for empowering people through coaching, which remains my passion today.
My Transformative Journey into Group Coaching: Overcoming My Fears and Embracing Growth
Like many coaches and consultants, I started my career with one-on-one sessions, primarily catering to small business owners. I found immense fulfillment in making a difference and helping others. While the work was rewarding, and I was making an okay amount of money, the financial gains fell short of my aspirations. It really wasn’t at the level that I knew it could be. I was stuck in a repetitive cycle, limited by the number of work hours in a day and my hourly rate. I wanted to make a difference to a lot of people, but I just couldn't scale because I literally had no more time left in the day.
Although my motivation was not solely driven by financial gain, I still needed to put food on the table and pay the bills. I was faced with the practical necessity of sustaining myself and my family, while growing the business. This added an extra layer of urgency to my quest for growth and change. Deep down, I craved more—more impact, more purpose, and a way to touch more lives without sacrificing all my time. I yearned for a change.
I remember being told that the only way to scale a coaching-based business was to do one-to-many and focus on group coaching.
At the time, I thought, “That's definitely a good idea, it made sense.” However, for me, the problem with the idea of transitioning to group coaching scared me to death because I was plagued by self-doubt.
I can vividly recall watching this guy who was very nervous presenting in front of a group of people, clutching his notes and pretending to be cool when inside he was a nervous wreck and anxious.
I remember thinking that this guy has no hope of presenting one-to-many if he needs notes to read from. In fact, he can barely string a sentence together and he looked like a total nervous wreck.
And if you didn't guess it, that's right… that guy was me.
I was awful in front of groups. I did not grow up being some confident, outgoing person.
The contrast between the confident presenter I envisioned becoming and my current state was stark.
Yes, back then, I was the epitome of shyness and simplicity. Even answering the door required my wife's assistance. I was shy, quiet and reserved. People described me as a very basic, simple person. People who knew me then and see me today see two totally different people. Shy doesn’t really describe me.
Here's a true-life example, if someone came to our house, and knocked on our front door, I could open the door but my wife would have to say “Hello.”
This is not a joke. That happened on more occasions than I care to remember. Yes, that was me. I was like the geek with the pocket protector that you see in some of those older movies. Yep, that was me.
My first presentations were horrible experiences. I was so nervous, and I had to hold notes and read line by line, my hands shaking with every word. I was awful. The experience was daunting, and I doubted my ability to succeed.
Despite my initial failures, I recognized that conquering my fear was essential to fulfilling my mission. I knew that in order to scale my message and make a significant impact, I had to confront my insecurities head-on.
This realization marked the beginning of a transformative journey, where I embraced my fears and committed to overcoming the challenges ahead. My determination to evolve and grow was fueled by a deep sense of responsibility to my mission and the lives I aimed to impact.
My Emotional Journey through My First Live Events
My heart pounded with anticipation as I prepared for my inaugural live event. I had meticulously studied presentations, devoured books, and scribbled copious notes in my quest to create a transformative experience. The topic I chose was ambitious: "Unleashing Your Potential: The Power of Public Speaking, Mindset, and Overcoming Obstacles for Personal Growth and Influence." I pictured a room filled with eager faces, ready to absorb the wisdom I was about to share. It was a pivotal moment that I believed would launch my career into new heights.
I spared no effort in organizing the event. I rented a spacious room at the Valley Forge Sheraton Hotel, with seats for a hundred people. Invitations were sent to everyone in my circle - family, friends, past co-workers, and previous clients. The room buzzed with energy as attendees filed in, each paying $20 at the door. This was my first attempt into a one-to-many presentation, and I was determined to make it count.
Inspired by the grand sales pitches I had seen, I crafted my own compelling offer, hoping to enroll participants into a transformative program. My calculations ran wild; if just five individuals invested $2,000 each, I would net $10,000, a sum that seemed life-changing, at the time.
Reality struck hard. Despite my earnest pitch and well-laid plans, not a single person made a purchase. Disheartened, I went home that night and cried. Yes there were tears streaming down my face as I drowned my sorrows in a bowl of cereal. I vowed never to subject myself to such humiliation again.
However, the next morning I picked myself up and committed to trying again. Somehow I found the strength to rise from the darkness and try once more. I was determined to improve and refine my approach. Yes, I was going to try again. Only this time it was different. This time I practiced relentlessly, honing my skills and refining my message. This time, I was determined to succeed.
With this renewed determination, I stepped back onto the stage, armed with newfound confidence. I poured my heart into my pitch, and this time, one person bought. Success! Unfortunately, it was short-lived. The buyer happened to be my brother's friend, who requested a refund just days later. I was back to square one, my confidence shattered.
Now being desperate to prove my worth, I took to social media, shouting my message from every possible channel. Yet, instead of gaining clients, I encountered ridicule and skepticism. Strangers questioned my qualifications, my lack of results, and my credibility. Even worse, people I had known my entire life turned their backs on me. Instead of supporting me they were talking about me behind my back. And let me tell you that their hurtful words cut deep, making me question my purpose and my ability to help others.
I became a target, a laughingstock among those who had once respected me. The negativity surrounding me weighed heavily on my spirit, leaving me feeling utterly defeated. The self-doubt gnawed at my core, impostor syndrome kicked in making me question my very existence in this realm of coaching.
"Why am I doing this?" I asked myself. "Am I truly capable of helping others when I can barely help myself?" “You're not qualified to help others.” “You have no clients, no results, nothing.” “Who are you?”
Does any of this sound familiar? I started doubting myself in a massive way. Emotion overwhelmed me, and frustration turned into tears.
The journey that had begun with hope and enthusiasm had spiraled into a storm of doubt and humiliation. I was at my lowest, grappling with the painful realization that my path forward was far from clear.
Stand Tall. Don't Give Up. Even if Strong Winds are Blowing. The Power of Perseverance: Finding Purpose Amidst Struggles and Why You Must Keep Going
A sense of purpose has always been my driving force. I knew deep within my soul that without the ability to give back, I just felt there was no real purpose to my life. I remember that I started on this journey not because I wanted fame, not for social media recognition, but simply to help people. My mission was clear: I wanted to make a difference using the skills I was passionate about. It was a modest aspiration, yet one that held immense significance for me.
I vividly recall the moment I made a solemn promise. It was a promise to God, made on the heels of that tragic car accident that granted me a second chance at life. In the wake of that life-altering event, I found myself resolute in my commitment: I vowed never to give up on my dreams. That promise became the guiding light, the unwavering beacon that fueled my determination.
However, as I faced numerous setbacks and challenges, doubt crept in. The allure of quitting loomed large, threatening to snuff out the flicker of hope within me. Despite my inner turmoil, I clung to that promise. I knew I had to press on, not leaving my fate to mere hope or guesswork.
"I'll give it one more chance," I whispered to myself. But this time, it had to be different. Certainty replaced uncertainty, and determination replaced hesitation. I had to know deep within my gut that my efforts would bear fruit.
This struggle, this unwavering determination, is a testament to the human spirit's resilience. In sharing my story, I hope others can find solace and inspiration, recognizing that the path to fulfillment is paved with challenges. The key lies in holding onto that glimmer of hope, no matter how dim it may seem, and forging ahead with unwavering faith in oneself and one's purpose. For in the face of adversity, the decision to keep going can be the very catalyst that transforms dreams into reality.
Making it Work - Finding a Shortcut: Building My Dream Against All Odds
I threw myself into my work with unparalleled dedication. Day and night blurred into one as I pursued my mission relentlessly. My focus was unyielding, my determination unwavering. I delved into extensive research, absorbing knowledge on how to validate an offer, get people to attend, structure value, and ultimately, how to get people to buy. I became obsessed, driven by a burning desire to succeed.
The old way was just not working for me. The complexity of the conventional methods and sluggish pace of the traditional approach left me frustrated. Spending countless hours upfront, creating something without any certainty that anyone would even buy from me seemed crazy and absurd. The prospect of launching my program felt daunting, with an insurmountable mountain of tasks.
"I need a shortcut. I need a faster way," I realized urgently. Time was not a luxury I could afford. I lacked an email list, a brand, an online presence, or any followers. My reality demanded a solution that bypassed the laborious process of building everything beforehand. I yearned for a direct, uncomplicated path to accelerate the entire journey.
My strategy crystallized: I needed to guide people to a purchase decision – that's where I would begin. I chose to sidestep the conventional route and design the program with my clients in real time. Instead of waiting for everything to be perfect, I took a leap of faith. I sold the concept of the program first, igniting the spark of interest, long before creating the exhaustive content. It was a bold move, a gamble against the odds, but it felt like the right way forward. In that moment, I embraced the audacity to forge my own path, defying convention and believing in the power of my vision.
My First Beta Program
I got a really small beta group together to test the idea of the program and to take them through it.
My beta group consisted of my friend Tom, his sister Annie, a waitress from Denny’s, and another friend.
The Rocket Accelerator System
The heart of this system is in the client. I put the client first: the client’s results, fulfilling what they want, and creating it with them. Then I taught it to them live in real time. I answered all their questions fully. I made sure I fully understood their thinking and I made sure they got all their answers. I broke down everything I taught and split it into modules in rapid time. Now, I had an outstanding program that my clients had vetted, so I knew it worked. If for some reason they did not understand what I taught, I stayed as long as they needed until they got it. By the end, my belief in the program and myself went through the roof.
Now I knew my program worked. I understood their objections and, most importantly, I understood how to sell it to them. This time, I knew it'd be different. I then collected a testimonial from each of my beta clients so I could tell other people about how they found the program.
I now able to sell the program easily because I knew how to answer their objections, and all the reasons that they would give for not buying.
I now no longer had to wait around, and I could make money in days without all the guess work.
Navigating the Challenges: Launching My First Program- My Evolution in Group Coaching
Launching my next program was a mix of excitement and nerves. I poured my heart into planning the most significant presentation ever. The excitement bubbled within me because this time, I was certain it would work. I hustled to bring as many people as possible to the event, believing this attempt would mark a turning point. It was awesome. The room buzzed with energy. The presentation kicked off even better than I hoped. The audience seemed captivated and my enthusiasm to explain my program got the best of me. I lost track of the time. As I was coming towards the end of my presentation, I saw my friend who was helping me come rushing up to me, with panic written all over his face.. "David," he says to me, "You've got no time left and you've completely forgotten about the pitch."
Oh no, I almost missed the crucial pitch entirely. I couldn't believe it, but I didn’t come this far to let this go. So I stumbled and rushed through an overly excited enthusiastic pitch, forgetting everything I had planned. Then I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. As you could imagine, I didn't sell one person onto my program. I sold seven, earning $14,000 and officially launching my first group coaching program. I went home a different man that night.
Overcoming Obstacles and Finding Success: Discovering the Rocket Accelerator System:
This success propelled me into uncharted territory, and it wasn't long before I developed the Rocket Accelerator System. It wasn’t really a tool. It was a transformative force that revolutionized my coaching approach. It was more than just a technique; it became my guiding star, enabling me to shift from one-on-one sessions to impactful group coaching, reaching wider audiences and creating lasting changes in peoples lives.
With each program, I refined and fine-tuned the system, incorporating effective strategies I observed in the market. If it was good, I would add it to my method. If it wasn't good, I would subtract it from my method. Testing and adapting became my mantra, whether in Europe or as far as Japan. Wherever I went, the same result occurred because it was focused on the client and getting them results.
That is what it is all about. My focus remained unwavering. The message to take away from this is that delivering exceptional results for clients is the key to success.
I started noticing people flooding into the market coaching other coaches and offering them very bad advice. Maybe I should not have kept quiet but I did. I just focused and concentrated on growing my programs and perfecting my method. As the system evolved getting better and better, the results got bigger and bigger. Clients were getting great results, and because they were getting great results, I was making more impact and more money.
It was a testament to the power of authenticity and client-centric coaching. Scaling became not just a goal but a reality, breaking financial barriers I hadn't dreamed possible.
With each version, the Rocket Accelerator System became sharper, more refined, and incredibly effective. Version 7.0 was a game-changer, allowing me to surpass industry veterans swiftly. The method streamlined my progress, achieving milestones that would typically take a lifetime, all without the usual hassles.
It became glaringly evident that misinformation plagued the coaching landscape. Many fell victim to suspicious and questionable advice, hindering their growth. Recognizing the need for a transformative approach, I launched a high-end Mastermind. The response was overwhelming; it sold out, with participants willingly investing $6,000 each to join.
To enhance accessibility and reach, I transitioned my programs into online formats, eliminating limitations on my scalability. This shift marked a pivotal moment, allowing me to empower more people than ever before. With the Rocket Accelerator System as my guiding light, I continued my mission, breaking barriers and transforming lives, one coaching session at a time.
Join the Journey:
I have come a long way from my beginnings at Boyertown High School. Since then I have released several books. I did a huge launch and had a bunch of people turn up. All this from a person who was picked on in high school and could not make friends.
And it wasn't because of me, it was because of the system. My online programs continue to make a massive difference to a lot of people and transform people's lives. Our earnings continue to expand beyond the seven figures because our business is online. This then grew even more allowing us to achieve over 8 figures.
The Rocket Accelerator System took me from a place of having a couple of clients to having thousands of clients… There is nothing special about me. It's got nothing to do with who I am as a person. It's The RA (Rocket Accelerator) System that did all of this. And the method is what I can share with you. That is why it's 100% guaranteed.
It even had an impact on my dad who actually said he was proud of me (even if it wasn't to my face behind my back). I think sometimes in life, that's what we live for… for our parents to actually say that we did a good job. I’ve been able to take my family on amazing holidays all around the world, and I’ve traveled to places that most wait a lifetime to see.
So being able to actually do things like that, to be able to buy some cool things along the way, but most importantly, the Rocket Accelerator System has in turn transformed the lives of thousands and thousands of people and built a legacy.
I’ve been able to create a wonderful community of people that genuinely care and have a message to help other people, thus creating a ripple effect.
